Role and Responsibilities:
The sanitation worker is a member of a cleaning crew whose duties are to clean and sanitize food and beverage processing plants, which are operated by to meet Quality Control and Bacterial Standards imposed by the customer and applicable governmental agencies, such as the USDA.
Promotes and adheres to company safety work rules and regulations
Performs cleaning and sanitation duties in assigned areas
Operates all machinery in the assigned cleaning area
Disassembles and assembles simple mechanisms.
Assists and relieves other processing employees as needed
Communicates any problems or changes in production or quality to supervisor and appropriate personnel
Understands and adheres to the concepts and techniques of the quality process in order to ensure a quality operation
Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Frequently lift/move hoses, equipment, chemical containers weighing 20-80 lbs. Throughout each and every work shift
Wear employer-specified protective gear, including gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, boots, etc.
Exposure to chemical cleaning solution (with protective gear)
Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. During long periods of time.
Perform all tasks safely and in a manner, that will not create or pose a direct threat to the health and/or safety of the sanitation worker or any other person.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
Oral communication skills
Ability to stand on concrete for a minimum of 8 hours daily
Create and maintain an efficient, hygienic, and positive working environment
Promote health and safety in the workplace
Display good work ethic, resourcefulness, and organization
Understand the Standard Operating Procedures and Inspection Regulations
Ensure quality control and efficient work flow
Display positive leadership
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds as required
Prior assembly experience helpful
