Plastics Manufacturing Engineer

This person will have emphasis in project management of part prototyping and creation, plastic mold new builds, revisions, and repairs. This qualified person will work closely with the company management team, our customer s engineers, internal and external mold builders and tooling suppliers to develop, purchase and manage the building of new plastic vacuum forming molds. Create process by which to track and insure company and contractors are meeting the mold and tool build commitment schedules for production and prototype molds and manufacturing automation tooling requirements.
Manage the engineering department team from project concept to completion. Duties may include assisting with quoting, part development, tooling build, prototype approval, and production streamlining.
Responsible for achieving cost savings and sustainability targets in mold builds.
Responsible for improving current production processes in molding and tooling.
Work with Operations Manager to improve production efficiencies.
Experience with gap analysis and cycle time studies.
Drive for results, execute on upper-management s initiatives.
Solid experience in Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Must be flexible with the availability to work the hours needed with occasional weekends as the project requires and business needs to meet customers schedule requirements and deadlines

Job Requirements:
Minimum 5 years in project engineering and management in the building of plastic molds
Production process related to mold and tooling designs experience a plus
Must be able to communicate mold and part drawings with production and interpret part tolerances
Solid Works, Esprit, Mastercam, CATIA and other CAD/CAM systems software experience
Have customer and supplier interaction experience and professional presentations experience
Experience operating vacuum forming machines a plus
Hands-on experience in production processes of thermoplastics molding and assembly operations
Knowledge of HDPE, ABS, Styrene, Acrylics, and Polycarbonate materials
Required Education:
A Bachelor s degree Engineering and or equivalent experience
5 years experience in engineering
